Technology is not just about hardware. These are stories about the search for shapes, experiments with materials, dialogues with the customer, and a constant balancing act between aesthetics and functionality. This is exactly how the creation of self-service terminals for104.ua — a large-scale project where every little thing mattered.
104.ua — is Ukraine’s largest digital platform in the gas supply sector. It unites millions of household consumers and dozens of gas distribution companies, providing access to convenient online services: transmission of readings, payment, support, and analytics.
In addition to online services, 104.ua is developing a network of offline tools, including self-service terminals. It was for this area that the company turned to Elpix, requesting a customised, modern solution adapted for large-scale use.
We were faced with a task that does not forgive templates.
First, there was the unusual shape of the case. It couldn’t be made by simply bending metal – only by a complex reamer with millimetre accuracy. Next came the appearance requirements. The customer wanted to move away from the traditional ‘metal’ style and add visual uniqueness. This is where acrylic stone came into play – an idea that immediately changed the perception of the device.

The task sounded simple: 160 terminals with individual design and powerful content, that will operate stably throughout Ukraine.
But behind this were dozens of solutions, prototypes and tests.
To create a truly unique case, we made more than one model.
The final version was the result of constant refinements, checks and precise machining. When the shape was approved, we integrated an acrylic stone from Elcamino, which gave the design a premium look and a pleasant tactile feel.
Each terminal has a proven configuration:
21.5-inch touchscreen display, Intel i5, built-in printer and POS terminal. This ensures fast interaction, minimal downtime and user comfort.

Implementation of terminals
To ensure the expected quality at all stages, we focused on several critical components:
And most importantly, we managed not just to produce 160 devices, but to make each of them part of a single idea:functional, reliable and recognisable self-service terminal.
This project is not just a delivery. It is a real impact on the quality of service in the regions.
This case is about what a real one looks likeindividual approach.
We didn’t just manufacture equipment. We have created a product that combines design, technology and customer needs into one solution. This is how we believe modern technology should work – for the benefit, with a look and with character.
