Book of Memory interactive information complex: preserving the history of heroes

Today, when Ukraine is going through the most difficult challenges in its modern history, the memory of its fallen heroes is of particular importance. It is not only a moral duty, but also part of the national identity that shapes generations and unites society.

That is why new ways of commemorating are emerging that combine the tradition of memory with innovative technologies. One of these solutions was interactive memorial complex “Book of Memory” from the company Elpix. This is a modern system that allows you to preserve history, personalise memory, make it accessible, alive and eternal.

“Memory book” — is not just a screen or a terminal. It’s a living archive, a virtual honour board, a place where the past meets the future to tell everyone: who we are, who we have lost and why we should remember.

This complex is not just a board with names, but a living virtual book that allows:

• post extended information about the fallen heroes, their combat path and exploits;
• add photos, videos and personal stories;
• search by name, place of birth or burial;
• edit the entered information at any time.

This is an important step in preserving historical memory and fostering patriotism among young people, as well as a worthy way to perpetuate the memory of not only the military, but also prominent figures or people dear to the heart.

Each element is designed to ensure that the complex can operate for years without interruption, even in an active environment.

Example of implementation

One example of the installation was an interactive memorial kiosk in Borynya village in Lviv region, which was opened on 24 February 2025 near the Borinsky Vocational Lyceum. Community members can now store and view information about the fallen heroes. The grand opening of this project was an important event for the entire community, uniting people around a common memory.
